Lifestyle habits form the foundation of overall health. Your choices start from between your ears, and that little voice that pushes us to get up off the couch, or reach for another soda is powerful. Our mindset plays an enormous role in our self awareness and self esteem and we need to identify the negative and destructive thoughts so we can replace them with more encouraging and positive ones.
It matters what choices you are making everyday from what you tell yourself, to eating habits, and even activity. Among U.S. adults, more than 90 percent of type 2 diabetes, 80 percent of CAD, 70 percent of stroke, and 70 percent of colon cancer are potentially preventable by a combination of nonsmoking, avoidance of overweight, moderate physical activity, healthy diet, and moderate alcohol consumption (Willett 2002). With so many chronic diseases easily managed by lifestyle, it would be irresponsible to disregard those aspects of health. Here at Imperium Health Center, we offer lifestyle coaching in every care plan to help change those daily habits and empower your body to thrive.
